KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Statement Preparation:
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements that accurately reflect business activities across all units, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Conduct regular reviews and analyses of financial reports to provide insights and recommendations to management
- Maintain and update financial records, including managing ledgers and tracking financial transactions across various business units
- Ensure all financial data is accurately recorded, and discrepancies are promptly addressed
- Manage and process invoices efficiently, ensuring timely payments of bills and tracking incoming payments from customers or clients
- Collaborate with vendors and clients to resolve any billing discrepancies or issues
- Oversee payroll processes, including the calculation of wages, withholding taxes, and ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and labour laws related to payroll
- Monitor and control company costs, identifying areas where expenses can be reduced while maintaining operational efficiency
- Conduct financial analyses to inform decision-making and drive strategic initiatives that enhance financial performance
- Work closely with the finance team to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial planning reports
- Provide support during audits, preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of finance experience, preferably with a reputable company in KRG
- Accounting certification (eg, CPA, ACCA, etc) is required
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial software, with the ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret complex financial statements and reports
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic is a must
