Job Purpose
The System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure of the organization, ensuring seamless support for the teams based in Erbil, Basra, and Baghdad. This role involves both remote support and occasional on-site visits to ensure the IT systems operate efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
System Maintenance and Administration:
- Manage servers, networks, and IT systems to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor system health, security, and performance metrics
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and backups for critical systems
Remote and On-Site Support:
Provide IT support to teams in Erbil, Basra and Baghdad, addressing hardware, software, and network issues Travel to Basra and Baghdad when necessary to resolve on-site issues or perform upgrades.
Network and Security Management:
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and secure remote access for team members
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols to protect organizational data
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues across locations
Hardware and Software Management:
- Install, configure and maintain hardware (desktops, laptops, printers) and software
- Manage software licenses and ensure compliance with policies
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Coordinate with the IT team in Beirut to align on IT strategies, share best practices, and escalate complex technical issues
- Act as the primary point of contact for IT issues in Erbil and support escalation from Basra and Baghdad
Project Management:
- Support the rollout of new IT systems, tools, or technologies
- Plan and execute upgrades or migrations with minimal disruption to users
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role
- Proficiency in managing Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office 365
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Familiarity with cloud services and cybersecurity practices
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Arabic
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Basra and Baghdad
