Chemical Waste Awareness and Management training course is designed to provide lab staff, individuals and anyone who works with chemicals; with knowledge and skills on how to safely handle, store, transport, and dispose of hazardous chemical waste.
The training course typically covers the following topics:
Identification of hazardous chemical waste: Participants are taught how to identify different types of hazardous waste and the associated risks
Chemical waste management: Participants learn about the proper handling, storage, transport, and disposal of hazardous waste
Regulatory compliance: The course covers the legal requirements for the management of hazardous waste, including regulations from government agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Risk assessment and mitigation: Participants are taught how to assess the risks associated with hazardous waste and implement mitigation measures to reduce the risks
Emergency response: The course may include training on emergency response procedures in the event of a chemical spill or release
Identification of Chemical Security Vulnerabilities: The course will cover the weaknesses or gaps in the security systems and procedures that are in place to protect chemical facilities and the materials they store or produce.
Best practices: The course may also cover best practices for managing hazardous waste, including waste reduction, reuse, and recycling
