Accountant

mselect is hiring an Accountant for a manufacturing client in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and be fluent in English, Kurdish and Arabic.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • General ledger & journal entries operations
  • Receives and reviews and reconciles trade/non-trade supplier invoices
  • Reviews, analyses and matches invoices and contracts for consistency with purchase order pricing and computation of amounts due; captures any refunds or adjustments indicated, and posts any credits and/or changes to the proper district accounts
  • Coordinates with the supply chain, vendors, consultants and departments to manage and resolve invoice inconsistencies regarding information, charges, coding and other documentation data
  • Provides guidance on the completion of various Accounts Payable related documentation
  • Processing due invoices for payments
  • Prepares AP IC Reconciliation quarterly report
  • Prepares various Accounts Payable related reports
  • Develop and track accounts payable documents and correspondence
  • Assist with monthly/quarterly closings and preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements
  • Assist with preparation of monthly/periodic financial and managerial reports
  • Assist with account receivable and accounts payable
  • Assist with tax computations and returns
  • Assist in budgets and forecasts
  • Cash/bank reconciliations
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Experience:
  • BA in Finance/Accounting or other related field
  • Minimum of 3 years in Finance/Accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of financial reporting
  • Technical accounting skills
  • Previous experience of general accounting
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software/tools, (SAP experience will be an addition)
