Job Summary
The job holder must represent the organization's best interest at all times and assist the CSR team in identifying possible or potential community relations risks in advance of any operational activities such as seismic surveys, civil construction, rig movements, or drilling operations. Under close to moderate supervision, performs practical assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and application of corporate social responsibility (CSR) principles. Works on tasks to establish and maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with the direct impact area (DIA) communities, regulatory, and other government bodies. Works on tasks designed to develop competence in sustainability, ethics, environment, and community-minded corporate objectives. Observes and learns from more senior peers to develop communication and influencing skills when handling contentious or sensitive situations. Performs specific and well-defined assignments. Job tasks, correctly performed, have a minimal impact on the viability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- In alignment with the CSR process, uses formal and informal methods to ensure the company positively impacts external stakeholders and the environment
- Liaising with stakeholders such as community leaders, government representatives, security agencies, local authorities, etc.; monitoring and evaluating initiatives; reporting on active CSR programs; gathering of data and other activities of limited scope
- Develop and deliver solutions to diffuse stakeholder issues peacefully without creating additional tensions
- Schedules, organizes, and plans meetings with various internal and external stakeholders
- Actively involved in relationship building and positioning of the company in the region
- Related tasks to land acquisition, restitution payments, documentation preparation, delivery, and troubleshooting delays
- Responsible for administrative duties, such as filing, answering phone calls, routing, and responding to incoming mail or email
- Any other duties the CSR manager may reasonably assign from time to time
Key Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in CSR, PR, Legal, or similar related discipline
- Minimum 3-4 years of general work experience within the oil and gas industry
- Proficient verbal and written skills in Kurdish, English and Arabic is essential
- Knowledge of office productivity software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Must be willing to travel extensively, respond and work on short notice and be available at all hours and days to attended to any crisis situations
- Requires a working knowledge of government procedures, legal obligations the organization's technical work programs
- Basic level of budget knowledge
- Knowledge and familiarity of the budget policies and procedures
- May have some internal inventory control responsibilities
- May function as a work leader or coordinator
- May give technical guidance to one or two trainee professionals assigned to work on a common project
- Manages self, workspace, and work practices in accordance with established systems and procedures on a day-to-day basis
- Minimal planning and prioritizing required. Individual contributors who plan and organize own work or small projects
