Job Purpose
The Ministry of Natural Resources seeks a highly skilled and proactive Communications Officer to manage our official website and enhance our online presence. The ideal candidate will have exceptional English communication skills, a strong ability to translate content accurately, and experience in website content management.
Key Responsibilities
Website Management:
- Maintain and update the Ministry’s website with relevant and timely content
- Ensure the website is user-friendly, accurate, and visually appealing
- Coordinate with relevant departments to gather and verify information for publication
Content Creation:
- Draft, edit, and proofread articles, press releases, announcements, and reports in English
- Develop engaging content that highlights the Ministry’s achievements and initiatives
Translation Services:
- Translate documents, reports, and website content from English to Kurdish/Arabic and vice versa with high accuracy
- Ensure translations maintain the original message and tone
Communication Support:
- Collaborate with internal teams to create communication strategies aligned with the Ministry’s objectives
- Respond to public and stakeholder inquiries through the website or other digital platforms
Digital Media Management:
- Monitor website analytics to improve user engagement and traffic
- Suggest improvements to digital strategies to enhance the Ministry’s online visibility
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Translation, or a related field
- Fluent in English, with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills and good in Arabic
- Proven experience in translation of English, Kurdish, and Arabic
- Proficiency in website content management systems (e.g, WordPress)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently under tight deadlines
- Experience in managing government or corporate websites
- Familiarity with oil and gas industry terminology is a plus
