JOB PURPOSE
The Construction Manager will oversee the construction of an Aviation Fuel Tank Farm. This role requires extensive experience in the oil and gas sector, with a focus on tank farm construction. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mechanical quality control and expertise in API 650 storage tanks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Supervision: Oversee all construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Cost Management: Monitor project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure adherence to budget constraints
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle
- Daily Monitoring: Review work progress daily, prepare internal and external reports on job status, and address any emerging issues promptly
- Contract Management: Negotiate terms, draft contracts, obtain necessary permits and licenses, and manage project risks
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest standards of construction quality, employing proper techniques and meeting API 51/653, ASNT Level 2, and TWI standards
- Claims Management: Review, manage, and approve claims, variations, and progress reports
- Risk Management: Analyze and mitigate project risks, reporting potential issues to the project manager and key stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years in the oil and gas sector, with specific experience in tank farm construction
- Technical Expertise: Familiarity with Aviation Fuel Farm construction and JIG standards is a strong advantage
- Certifications: API 51/653, ASNT Level 2, TWI certifications are preferred
- Language Skills: Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic is a must
