JOB PURPOSE
Core Handling Technician is the role of the Core Analysis Project in Petroleum Department. The primary role is responsible for core handling including whole core slabbing, plug drilling. during the current core analysis project execution. The job is also required to work together with subcontractor and monitor/ provide technical support and recommendation to them if needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To operate slabbing machine and plugging machine properly after training
- Work together with Senior technician and follow the related procedures during the work
- Provide technical support and advice for the required core handling work
- Understands and promotes the company’s health, safety & environmental policy and objectives;
- performs work in accordance with the company’s established rules, regulations and approved procedures
- Participates in next core analysis work scope and give recommendation if needed. (i.e. core and plug preservation, suggestions and hazards)
- Works with geoscientists and engineers from PE and subcontractor to execute the project smoothly and effectively
- Provides on-site supervision, QC, and analysis of core handling work, and ensures work accuracy and completeness

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a Bachelor degree and background in petroleum engineering
- Previously working in a multi-cultural and multi-nationalities team
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with in-depth technical knowledge and capability in core handling work
- and related work
- Work in warehouse with 1-year experience is required
- Must be able to speak upper intermediate and above English
- Experiences on slabbing/ plugging machine is a plus
SKILLS
- Good communication and analytical skills are essential
- Eagerness to learn and develop own skills
- Must have a HSSE driven mindset
- The ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds will be essential
- Experience and good understanding of core handling and related work
- Good diagnostic skills are required to troubleshoot problems
