mselect is looking to hire a Financial Consultant for a construction client in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of proven practical experience in accounting and finance. Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic is a must.

Job Summary:
Client is actively seeking a highly skilled Finance Consultant to serve across all our business sectors, including construction, real estate, and other diversified interests. This role demands a seasoned professional who can manage and direct financial strategies to support the overall growth and stability of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning, analysis, and oversight of financial operations to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial operations and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers
  • Develop and implement budgets and financial plans for the company and each department within the business
  • Conduct analysis of financial risks and benefits on business initiatives, providing analytical support and recommendations
  • Manage banking relationships, negotiate bank and service fees, and manage treasury functions
  • Lead the preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for the company’s Board of Directors
  • Establish and develop relationships with senior management and external partners and stakeholders
  • Review formal finance, HR, and IT related procedures, ensuring the implementation of best practice financial procedures
  • Supervise the preparation of all documents related to the auditing process by external auditors

Key Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Experience: At least 10 years of practical experience in accounting and finance, including significant experience in banking activities, as well as roles as an accountant or senior financial analyst Experience in preparing financial budgets, auditing final accounts, team management, and experience dealing with external auditors, especially from one of the big four auditing firms
  • Management Skills: Ability to manage financial operations, analyze financial data, make strategic financial decisions, and manage a team
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial management software and accounting systems, and proficiency in various computer programs
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and partners, and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Stress Management: Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced work environment
