mselect is looking for a Health and Nutrition Facilitator for an international organization in Erbil. Candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in public health services. Fluency in Arabic and English is a must.
Scope of Work
The Facilitator is expected to work under the supervision of the health section to oversee the implementation of ECD, Immunization programme and other MNCH projects, considering joint work with other sections within the organization.
The Facilitator will also be expected to regularly visit health facilities including primary health centres that have implemented the ECD program and immunization program.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Health and Nutrition Specialist in the North Zone office and with technical support from the Country Office team, the Technical Facilitator will undertake the following tasks:
- Participate in coordination meetings with agencies and government authorities on existing strategies to assist IDPs and Syrian refugees and report to the supervisor.
- Work closely with DOHs (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk) in collecting and compiling data and information from field visits in a clear format for forwarding to supervisor.
- Oversee the implementation of the organization’s activities in the Erbil field offices, including frequent travel to the areas.
- Establish and maintain a coordination mechanism with the government and partners to ensure proper utilization of resources and information flow.
- Review and amend technical conditions and bills of quantities prepared by partners to ensure technical integrity and standardization.
- Drafting minutes of coordination meetings with the government and partners.
- Assist in the preparation of various health and nutrition events that may take place in the Erbil field office.
- Completing additional tasks as requested by the supervisor
- Monitor and day to day follow up of planning and implementation of ECD in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah
- Follow up implementation of Immunization in Practice capacity training, outreach immunization activities in IDP camps and informal settlements and areas of return
- Monitor and day to day follow up of planning and implementation of Health programme in Erbil, Kirkuk, Sulaymaniyah
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in public health, social science, or any relevant sectors with at least 3 years of relevant work experience in public health services.
- Fluency in English and Kurdish is required. language Arabic can assist.
- Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of MS Office is required.
- Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills.
- Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team.
- Flexible and open to learning and new experiences.
- Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures and working environments.
- Previous working experience with government, NGOs, UN agencies or other international agencies would be an asset.
