mselect is looking to hire an HR Lead for a consultancy client in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources. Fluency in English is a must, and Kurdish or Arabic is a plus.

Job Purpose
mselect is looking for an experienced and dynamic HR Lead to oversee the internal Human Resource function within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining HR strategies that align with the company's vision, resulting in a positive work environment. The HR Lead will be key in shaping company culture, driving employee engagement, and supporting organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters within the organization, providing guidance and support to employees and management on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and industry standards
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures as needed, including drafting new policies, updating existing ones, and communicating changes to all employees to ensure understanding and compliance
Recruitment:
  • Lead the recruitment process for internal staff, including drafting job descriptions, posting job advertisements, screening candidates, and conducting interviews
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and ensure timely hiring
Onboarding and Orientation:
  • Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a seamless experience
  • Liaise with relevant departments to ensure equipment, tools, and resources are prepared for new joiners
  • Organize orientation sessions with all departments to familiarize new employees with the organization
Employee Engagement and Event Management:
  • Plan and execute team-building activities to strengthen workplace relationships and morale
  • Coordinate celebrations for milestones, birthdays, and other significant events
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through engagement initiatives
Performance Management and Evaluations:
  • Ensure the timely completion of employee evaluations in collaboration with managers
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance review processes and documentation
Capacity Building and Training:
  • Identify staff development needs and liaise with the Learning & Development department to arrange necessary training programs
  • Conduct a gap assessment to identify skill shortages and areas for improvement within the team, using tools such as surveys, performance reviews, and feedback sessions
  • Monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives and recommend improvements
Offboarding and Exit Interviews:
  • Manage the offboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for departing employees
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure proper documentation and handover procedures are completed
Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Prepare and manage the HR department’s budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Forecast HR-related expenses and allocate resources effectively
HR Reports and Documentation:
  • Draft and present HR reports, including metrics on recruitment, retention, and employee satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, manuals, and policies to streamline HR processes
  • Provide clear guidelines and documentation to ensure consistency across HR practices

Requirements
  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field HR certification (e.g. CIPD) is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws, and regulations
  • Must have corporate HR experience
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Creative mindset with the ability to plan and execute engaging events and activities
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Kurdish or Arabic is a plus
