KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise on Iraqi legislative and regulatory aspects
- Advise on topics such as contracts and procurement, permitting/licenses/consents/approvals, real estate, construction, local content, claims and compensation, insurance, Health, safety and Environment (HSE), sanctions, compliance, corporate governance and human resources
- Manage corporate and company secretarial requirements associated with the Hub Iraqi branch
- Create and maintain database of legal and regulatory documentation in Iraq making it available to the Projects and affiliate entities. Maintain up-to-date intelligence on legal and regulatory evolutions in Iraq
- Support due diligence activities on Iraqi regulatory aspects
- Support in developing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Iraqi law and regulations
- Collaborate with the broader legal organization (headquarters) on Iraqi legal and regulatory aspects
- Prepare and deliver updates/training on legal developments and requirements in Iraq
- Perform other tasks and take on additional duties as reasonably assigned by line manager(s)
- In conjunction with the General Counsel, legal department and head office legal departments, work
- cooperatively on all aspects of business activities in Iraq
REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in law
- Minimum 5 years legal experience in Iraq
- Good knowledge of English language (speaking and writing)
