Job Summary
As Logistics Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the movement and storage of goods, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation, and managing inventory levels across all locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness of supply chain operations.
- Manage and coordinate all transfer, distribution and storing activities in the company even outside official working hours
- Oversee storage levels and ensure optimal stocks levels are maintained across all storage locations
- Liaise with all suppliers local and abroad including shipping contractors also local and abroad to monitor current contracts and ensure that services and rates are matched to agreed-upon conditions
- Maintain and update shipping and delivery schedules and ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
- Match deliveries from suppliers with written contracts and document the matching process adequately
- Monitor deliveries to all remote locations and ensure that all shipments have reached their destinations and inquire on any differences and delays and report them on a timely basis
- Oversee and maintain supporting documentation for logistics department and ensure that all activities within the department are adequately documented either in paper format or electronically
- Identify and manage risks associated with logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
- Provide leadership and supervision to logistics staff, including training, coaching, and performance management
- Handle all feedback from logistics operations and take the necessary steps to resolve any issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management, preferably in a distribution or import/export environment
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, transportation, and inventory management
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent managerial and leading skills and preferably to have been in the same position in previous experiences
- Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software and systems. Knowledge in SAP S/4 Hana system is a plus in addition to high skills in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
- Preferable to have knowledge of laws and regulations related to shipping and logistics in Iraq and Turkey including import laws
