Logistics Specialist  

mselect is hiring a Logistics Specialist  for a construction client in Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience. English and Arabic fluency is a must.


Job purpose
As a Logistics Specialist you will be responsible to support day-to-day operations with the aim of increasing the level of service and customer’s satisfaction, by ensuring the timely processing and delivery of customer orders within the planned date. It’s a busy, hands-on role, where you should provide up-to-date information about product availability, lead time and delivery date of orders within the regional logistic network.

Key Responsibilities:
Route Planning and Optimization:
  • Daily cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Procurement & Finance team in ordering , organizing shipments to the customers
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze logistics data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement, optimize processes, and enhance operational efficiency for construction-related logistics operations
  • Handles stock-related complaints and incorrect deliveries, collaborates with responsible personnel to resolve issues, and ensures that the required system operations are executed Vendor Management: establish and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and resolve issues related to international logistic
  • Policies and Processes: steering of all policies and processes related to Material Management and Logistics
Warehouse Management:
  • Daily checking correctness of system interfaces
  • Manage requests to organize special deliveries, cancel deliveries
  • Organizing stock tacking procedures
  • Supervision of the inventory activity ensuring stock availability
Transportation Management:
  • manage transportation activities, coordinate shipments and logistics activities, customs clearance processes, ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods, meeting customer requirements and deadlines, proactively tacking actions in case of delays, arranging the movement of construction materials and equipment to and from the international warehouse
Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with international logistics regulations, customs requirements, import/export regulations, and documentation related to construction materials and equipment

Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management & Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Advanced English communication
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 consecutive years in a similar role, with proven ability to consistently meet performance targets.
