Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the setup, configuration, and integration of microwave transmission equipment into telecommunications networks They ensure that all system components work seamlessly, are optimized for peak performance, and meet customer requirements
- Perform the integration of microwave transmission systems, including configuring equipment settings, IP configurations, and frequency allocations according to network design
- Set up and calibrate antennas, radios, and other microwave transmission components to ensure optimal signal quality and coverage
- Conduct end-to-end testing of microwave links to verify signal strength, latency, throughput, and other key performance indicators
- Analyze test results to identify any issues or performance gaps and work on adjustments to meet network specifications
- Complete commissioning of newly integrated equipment, verifying connectivity and functionality
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems during integration, including signal interference, equipment malfunctions, and software/hardware compatibility issues
- Collaborate with field teams and technical support to resolve issues promptly and efficiently
- Monitor the performance of integrated microwave links and fine-tune configurations to optimize network performance
- Adjust link parameters, such as power levels and channel assignments, to reduce interference and improve reliability
- Document integration processes, settings, test results, and system configurations for each deployment
- Prepare reports detailing integration activities, troubleshooting steps, and final performance assessments for management and customer review
- Work closely with project team, field team, and other stakeholders to coordinate installation, testing, and integration schedules
- Provide technical support and guidance to field technicians during installation and testing phases
- Ensure all integration activities comply with industry standards, company policies, and project-specific requirements
- Conduct quality checks to confirm that equipment is installed, configured, and functioning according to technical specifications
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of microwave transmission systems, RF principles, and IP networking
- Hands-on experience with microwave equipment integration, configuration, and testing
- Proficiency in network testing tools and software used for microwave transmission and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work in field environments and travel as needed for on-site integration
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures for telecom installations
- Preferred to be based in Baghdad
