Job Purpose
The O&M Shift Technician will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations of the plant through on-site monitoring, maintenance, and emergency response activities. The role involves both operational and technical tasks, with a strong focus on plant availability, safety compliance, and proactive equipment handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor plant conditions and performance in the field during shift operations
- Record operational data and take routine readings of equipment and systems
- Execute and reset isolation measures as required during maintenance or abnormal plant conditions
- Respond promptly and effectively to operational emergencies or faults
- Perform minor inspection and repair tasks such as tightening of valve/pump packings and basic troubleshooting
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, work permits, and engineering procedures
- Utilize the SPPA-M3000 Plant Management System to report faults and track work execution
- Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and collaborate with other departments when required
- Proactively engage in continuous improvement and technical skill development through trainings and certifications
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a power plant or industrial facility
- Experience working in international/multicultural environments is a plus
- Practical knowledge and hands-on experience with power generation systems preferred
- Certifications (Preferred): Boiler Operator – Class A, First-Class Pressure Vessel Operator, High Pressure Gas Equipment Operator
- Familiarity with computerized Plant Management Systems (e.g. SPPA-M3000 – FN/WO/WP modules)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Understanding of safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals
