mselect is looking to hire an Operations Manager for a logistics client in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations management. Fluency in English, Arabic and Kurdish is a must.

Job Purpose
As an operations manager, your role is vital for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of various operational processes within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with senior management to set organizational goals and objectives
Logistics Management:
  • Manage the complete logistics process, from shipment’s order receipt to delivery
  • Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency
  • Coordinate with the whole supply chain participants in the process like agents, Shippers, vendors, and the company’s operation teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
Quality Control:
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards
  • Implement measures to identify and resolve any quality issues
Team Leadership:
  • Manage the whole operations department
  • Recruit and train staff; Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members
Communications:
  • Updating job owners (sales team) about shipments’ status
  • Efficient communication with the agents, shippers, brokers etc
  • Ensure effective communications with the departments of Sales and Finance
Technology Integration:
  • Implement and leverage technology solutions for improved tracking and visibility
  • Explore and adopt new technologies that enhance operational efficiency
Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans
  • Monitor external factors such as regulatory changes and economic trends that may impact operations
Cost Management:
  • Develop and manage budgets for operational expenses
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or efficiency
Customer Service:
  • Supervising the Customer Service teams at all stations
  • Work closely with customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Address and resolve customer complaints or issues related to operations
Continuous Improvement:
  • Regularly review and analyze operational processes to identify areas for improvement
  • Implement changes to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness
Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and update processes accordingly
Reporting:
  • Generate and analyze reports on key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Present regular updates to senior management on the performance of logistics operations

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations management, with a focus on logistics
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using logistics software and other relevant technology tools
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
