KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Dimensions
- Interpretation of open-hole, cased-hole logging and mudlogging data acquired in the field (carbonates & clastics)
- Participate in logging program elaboration and pre-job meetings
- Ensure operational procedures for well data acquisitions are following HSE guidelines
- Perform the appropriate well log data quality control (QC), environmental corrections and depth match (LWD, WL, Coring)
- Gas while drilling follow up of the new wells
- Sonic logs response validation
- LCD (composite logs) construction
- Quantitative logs interpretation (under supervision of a Senior Petrophysicist) of new and legacy wells
- Pressure data validation
- Update logs/core plug measurements database
- PLT interpretations
- Presentation of technical subjects to the GSR staff
- Participation in peer reviews
- Contribution to the Subsurface reporting and quality improvement
- Accountable for data validation and evaluation of hydrocarbon volumes in place
- Builds database (raw data and interpreted data)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor/master in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Geology, Reservoir Engineering
- Experience in log analysis: 3-5 years
- Knowledge of logging tools and their calibrations (mandatory)
- Knowledge of drilling operations (previous experience as wellsite geologist, wireline field engineer or mud-logger will be an advantage)
- Knowledge of software logs analysis packages (GEOLOG and EMERAUD applications)
- English: fluent (speaking/writing)
