Pizza Chef

mselect is looking to hire a Pizza Chef for a hospitality and catering client in Duhok, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a pizza chef in an Italian restaurant or pizzeria. Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic is a must.

JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Italian Pizza Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of traditional Italian pizza-making techniques, a strong knowledge of ingredients, and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality. You will be responsible for preparing authentic Italian pizzas, maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness, and contributing to a creative and dynamic kitchen environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pizza Preparation: Craft and bake authentic Italian pizzas, ensuring high-quality taste and presentation
  • Dough Making: Prepare, knead, and ferment pizza dough, mastering techniques for Neapolitan, Roman, and other regional styles
  • Ingredient Management: Source, select, and manage fresh ingredients, including tomatoes, cheeses, and toppings, with a focus on authenticity and quality
  • Oven Operation: Operate wood-fired, gas, or electric pizza ovens, ensuring optimal cooking temperatures and times
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the culinary team to design and develop new pizza recipes and seasonal specials
  • Kitchen Supervision: Oversee kitchen assistants and other staff, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to recipes and standards
  • Food Safety: Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards, ensuring compliance with local health regulations
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimize waste
  • Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers to receive feedback and ensure satisfaction with the food

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
  • Experience: minimum of 1-2 years of experience in as a pizza chef in an Italian restaurant or pizzeria
  • Culinary Training: Formal culinary education preferred, with specialized training in Italian cuisine
Skills:
  • Proficiency in dough making and pizza baking techniques
  • Strong knowledge of Italian ingredients and regional pizza styles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
