mselect is looking to hire a Plant Controller for an Industrial client in Al-Muthanna-Samawa, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and must be fluent in English and Arabic.

Position Purpose:
The Plant Controller is an integral part of the plant management team as well as a key member of the Finance team. As such, this position requires direct involvement in plant operations and supportive financial controller activities as required. Duties include overall responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of operational management information to be used in reporting financial results as well as managing decisions.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Prepare daily and monthly operational reports and analyses to support the business decision-making process
  • Prepare material mass balance report with coordination with process team of all raw materials, plant estimated and actual expenses regularly, plant performance report regularly, inventory aging report regularly, and shutdown report
  • Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and compiling data from all operational functions necessary for daily, monthly, and yearly reporting
  • Conducts operational review meetings with plant leadership & prepares plant controller department policy and procedure
  • Control and reduce costs to make sure that unfavorable variances are reported promptly & control the plant’s project costs and contractor’s payment commitment
  • Provides positive consultation, analysis, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions
  • Participate in the implementation of an ERP system that accomplishes key strategic initiatives including purchase requests against the budget and supervise the whole production and inventory flow in ERP
  • Effectively reporting and analysis of warehouse inventories, inventory reserves, slow-moving inventories, obsolete inventories, scrap, and inter-company transfers
  • Actively Monitor the operational budget and forecast process reporting to the financial controller
  • Direct and develop the plant accountant/ cashier and workflow to monitor daily transactions and cost allocation to submit weekly and monthly reports in coordination with the controller and accounting team
  • Develop and apply control systems to ensure compliance with company financial policy and statutory requirements
  • Reconcile all incoming raw materials with supplier and warehouse reports & prepare monthly JV for warehouse transactions with the coordination accounting team

Qualifications/ Experience/ Skills:
Qualification:
  • Bachelor/ master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Knowledge of manufacturing materials technology prepared in Refinery, Bitumen, and other related
Experience:
  • 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills:
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Good experience in stock management (Raw materials and spare parts)
  • Possess general knowledge of Manufacturing and Bitumen products, and industries and a solid understanding of the market, competition, and business opportunities
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving and the desire to seek solutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer software skills, MS Office, and Ms. Excel
  • Ability to work as a member of a team to continuously improve plant operation
