mselect is looking to hire a Procurement and Logistics Manager for an FMCG client in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. Candidates must have 3-5 years at the managerial level, with a strong background in procurement and logistics management in the FMCG industry. Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic and English is a must.

Job Purpose
The Procurement and Logistics Manager will be responsible for the overall design and management of an effective procurement process plan, direct, and coordinate purchasing, manage logistics personnel and logistics systems, and direct daily operations, will provide procurement support for both operational needs as well as in support of project activities local and foreign procurement process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the entire process procurement process and supply activities, logistics customs clearance, and ensure effective functioning processes to avoid costly delays and lost opportunities
  • Ensure effective lines of communication to ensure timely delivery of commodities using the most appropriate procurement procedures
  • Lead transformational activities to build procurement and logistics organizational capabilities and improve their efficiency
  • Management of the effective procurement process, such as PR, PO, and contract process
  • Overseeing procurements and logistics units including logistics, local, and foreign purchasing teams
  • Ensure that the procurement processes are in line with the approved process and are properly documented
  • Controlling the procurement budget by comparing quotations, using negotiation with vendors, and promoting a culture of long-term savings in purchasing costs
  • Build long-term relationships with vendors in the industry
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement progress reports as required
  • Run vendor evaluation system annually
  • Conducting performance evaluations of the team and monitoring their performance to ensure objectives are met
  • Supporting employees with training and development activities
  • Work with authorities and auditor upon request

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience: 3-5 years at the managerial level, with a strong background in procurement and logistics management in the FMCG industry
