- Ensure employees, visitors and contractors’ safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a positive environmental attitude
- Coordinate with all department managers and supervisors to build a robust HSE culture
- Appropriate guidance to the Safety officer and Quality team in order to sustain the QHSE
- Ensures all manufacturing related areas adhere to health standards and regulations, report and analyse all diseases within the company’s identifying causes and actions to be undertaken
- DM & Food safety compliance
- Facilitate the requirements for effective audits of internal and external
- Support QC team and monitor day to day activities of line performance and quality
- Monitor the progress of Lab efficiency and audits and guide the quality team for trouble shooting
- Develop, implement, sustain and improve Food safety & Quality Management System
- Ensure all relevant food safety and quality policies, procedures are communicated and adhered by all staff
- Assemble cost control and statistical data, as needed, in order to support Operational excellence
- Health, Safety & Environment induction sessions for new recruits, visitors in order to educate staff/ visitors/ contractors on the basics of Health and Safety guidelines, rules and procedures applicable at site
- Drive site safety and ensure proper Equipment, PPE and tools are managed
- Staff communication board updated with up to date Health & safety, environmental information
- Continuous improvement in the QHSE systems processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’
- Improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Ensure all staff trained on Food safety and Quality management system basic requirements, and deliver training when needed
- Conduct and deliver training in safety relevant topics internally
- Safety Behavioural visits
- Ensure all relevant Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and controls are developed, implemented, reviewed and maintained to have a sustainable QHSE culture
- Coordinate with certification body and cross functional department heads for Quality, Health, Safety and Environment audits
- Develop a team of cross functional internal auditors for conducting internal audits, Risk assessment and mitigation plans
- Coordinates with government bodies with regards to HSE requirements and ensure all hazardous materials handled at site comply to legal requirements
- Reporting of incidents to MOH as required by the regulating body on Health Safety & environment
- Supporting any audits for the site (QHSE)
- Report timely MIS statements and reports pertaining to HSE non–compliance of safety and trainings conducted
- Conduct investigations of accidents/ incidents
- Implement effective corrective actions for all accidents/ incidents taken in order to ensure that similar incidents do not recur
- Preparation of the plant Health & Safety, Environment budget
- Monitor the financial performance of the plant’s HSE related activities versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified
- Capitalise & drive potential performance improvement opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Chemistry/Applied chemistry/Bio tech/ Food technology preferably with a professional certification in HSE
- 5 – 8 years of relevant experience in Quality, Health, Safety and environment in manufacturing industry
