mselect is looking to hire a Quality Control Technician for an industrial group in Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work with prior lab experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

JOB PURPOSE
Routine monitoring of all quality control / assurance activities of the line operation from the receipt of raw materials to processing, filling and final packaging into finished product ensuring all the products produced are within the required standard specifications.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Collect in-process and finished product samples for immediate analysis as per requirements
  • Collect retention samples as per requirement
  • Collect microbiological samples as per requirement
  • Ensure lab instruments are verified prior to use
  • Carry out sample analysis, following clear guidelines ensuring all batches / products produced meet the standards
  • Immediately notify the QC Supervisor and Production Supervisor in case of any abnormalities
  • Monitor in use raw and packaging materials and notify to RM / PM Quality personnel in case of any abnormalities observed
  • Assist in coordination of any RM/PM trials on designated lines and ensure all associated records are kept
  • Prepare product analysis, process monitoring and packaging materials monitoring reports timely and accurately
  • Maintain lab equipment
  • Encode the parameters test results for Quality Indices calculation
  • Ensure all relevant safety, food safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and controls are followed during processing, filling, packaging, sampling and storage
  • Monitor GMP and GHK
  • Work with BU Supervisor and teams to ensure monthly quality talks are attended
  • Monitor automatic process control systems and escalate as necessary according to results required, to maintain product quality targets, ensuring all instruments are properly maintained
  • Analyse final beverage and assist Supervisor in batch card approval
  • Verify the CIP activities and conduct CIP chemical analysis if required, collect swab samples for microbiological analysis
  • Complete CCP validation as per HACCP requirements
  • Assist in maintenance and update of HACCP plan for designated lines.
  • Liaise with Maintenance in control of any changes to plant or processes
  • Active input into associated SOP’s
  • Maintain TAMU stations in assigned lines and coaching and training of TAMU principles and processes to line team members
  • Ensure lab instruments are verified, calibrated internally or externally as per requirement
  • Ensure lab equipment’s cleaned after use and maintained according to clear instructions
  • Ensure good laboratory practices are followed and labs maintained in hygienic / adequate condition
  • Assist Q.C. Supervisor / warehouse supervisor and Production Supervisor in handling and storage of non-conforming finished products
  • Investigate / analyse the root cause of non-conforming finished product and report
  • Investigate / analyse customer / consumer complaint - finished products
  • Coordinate rework / disposal of non-conforming product
  • Maintain 5S/GHK/GMP/HACCP/AIB practices
  • Work in a safe manner and reports unsafe activity or practices and recommend corrective action
  • Update Process related documents, records, logs and checklist required
  • Report all risk/hazards in Process area to ATL/TL or Safety Team and recommend solution to eliminate the risks
  • To report all incident-accident and near-miss in Process within 24 hour to Assistant Team Leader/Team Leader
  • Wear proper PPE’s required like safety shoes, earplug, eye glasses and safety gloves, safety apron to handle chemicals
  • Always wear standard company uniform
  • Implement and maintain 5S Gold Standard in Process Area.
  • Attend safety tool box monthly or as scheduled by Safety Team
  • Conduct all assigned OE related activities
  • Control the utilization, handling and storage of lab analysis records
  • Keep other referential specifications to maintain the necessary documentation in-case of future requirements
  • Maintain updated relevant programs, procedures and work instructions & SOP’s

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
Diploma / Bachelor of Science – Chemical Engineering / Chemistry / biochemistry / biotech from a reputed university.
Experience
3-5 years of relevant work with prior lab experience (2+ years) in Food/ Beverage industries.
Knowledge
  • Understanding of Quality, Safety and Environment Management Systems
  • Familiarity with Lean (OE – Operational Excellence), GMP, GLP & GHK standards and policies
  • Basic knowledge of packaging and process machinery, instrumentation and bottling / canning lines
Technical Skills
  • Analytical testing
