MSELECT is hiring a Quantity Surveyor for a construction client in Erbil. Candidates must have a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience and be fluent in English, Kurdish and Arabic.
Quantity surveyor is a skilled professional working in the construction industry concerned with assurance of cost and quality. QS investigate for defect and inspect the accomplishment, valuing the implemented works, services and delivered goods.
Duties and Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of QS without limitations include:
- The preparation of bills and schedules of quantities of materials, labor and services required in the construction and equipment of building, or engineering works.
- Preparation of specifications when required.
- Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
- Valuing completed work and submitting actual BOQ.
- Review submitted bill of quantities.
- Review architectural plans and prepare quantity needs.
- Estimate the quantity and costs of materials.
- Writing reports and overseeing bills.
- Keeping up to date with construction methods and materials.
- Verifying and reviewing inspection report.
- Preparing daily attendance sheet of labors and equipment.
- Submitting weekly used materials.
- Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complying with the requirements.
- Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
- Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
- 2-5 years of general construction estimating experience, financial experience, construction experience, or related field.
- Proficient in computer skills, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Able to analyze financial records and apply data to improved results.
- Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports.
- In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry.
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
- Attention to detail and methodical thinking.
- Excellent numeracy, Problem solving and analytical thinking.

Working Conditions
- Full – time position working Saturdays to Thursday, 08:00a.m.-05:00p.m. with possibilities of overtime working, night shifts or on weekends.
