JOB SUMMARY
As a Cargo Quotation Desk Specialist, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely quotations for the transportation of goods, managing customer inquiries, and facilitating the booking process. You will work closely with various stakeholders including customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient cargo operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quotation Management:
- Generate and deliver accurate and competitive quotations for cargo transportation services based on customer requirements, market conditions, and company pricing strategies
- Analyze freight rates, tariffs, and other relevant factors to determine pricing structures and ensure profitability
- Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics to adapt pricing strategies accordingly
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, requests for quotations, and pricing-related issues via email, phone, or other communication channels
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing exceptional service, addressing concerns, and offering solutions to meet their cargo transportation needs
- Collaborate with sales representatives and account managers to understand customer requirements and tailor quotations to their specific preferences
- Liaise with internal departments such as operations, finance, and logistics to coordinate the execution of cargo bookings, ensure compliance with regulations, and resolve any pricing-related discrepancies
- Communicate effectively with external stakeholders including carriers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to negotiate rates, confirm bookings, and resolve issues impacting cargo transportation
- Compile and analyze data related to quotation requests, booking trends, and pricing strategies to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement
- Prepare regular reports and presentations detailing key performance indicators, pricing trends, and customer feedback to support decision-making processes and strategic planning
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies governing cargo transportation, pricing practices, and contractual agreements
- Maintain accurate records of quotations, contracts, and pricing agreements, and ensure timely completion of documentation for billing and invoicing purposes
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in cargo operations, freight forwarding, or logistics, with a strong understanding of pricing methodologies and industry practices
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, evaluate pricing scenarios, and make informed decisions
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, colleagues, and external partners
- Proficiency in using pricing software, spreadsheets, and other analytical tools to generate quotations, analyze data, and produce reports
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures is preferred
