JOB SUMMARY
As the Regional Manager for our logistics and freight forwarding business, you will lead the drive for regional success, requiring a strategic thinker with a strong focus on sales, a detail-oriented approach to operations, and strong people management and administration skills. Your role is critical in aligning sales objectives, operational efficiency and a motivated workforce.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Management (60%)
- Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive sales strategies aligned with corporate objectives, including market analysis, target identification, and revenue forecasting
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire the sales team to exceed targets, providing ongoing training, motivation, and performance feedback
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain key client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction, retention, and identification of upsell opportunities
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts, adapting sales strategies accordingly
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, customer service, and other departments to enhance service offerings and address customer needs
- Process Optimization: Analyse and enhance end-to-end logistics and shipping processes, emphasising efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability
- Compliance and Risk Management: Implement and enforce compliance measures, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and mitigating operational risks
- Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and address operational challenges, working collaboratively with teams to find innovative solutions
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational performance
- Leadership Development: Mentor and develop a high-performing team, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Administrative Efficiency: Oversee administrative functions, including office management, budget adherence, and coordination with headquarters
- Recruitment and Training: Collaborate with HR for talent acquisition, onboarding, and ongoing training initiatives to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in sales leadership within the logistics and shipping industry, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets
- Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and project management
- Leadership Style: A collaborative and inclusive leadership approach, fostering teamwork and innovation
