Job Summary
The Security Coordinator acts as the local security expert in charge of the coordination of all security related subjects, with a focus on external parties (Iraqi Security Forces, communities, contractors). He has a global vision and understanding of the missions of all the contractors involved in the project and is a facilitator and a coordinator with Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) to properly secure the development of AGUP activities on the ground.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor and coordinate State forces' asset protection and deployment around project sites
- Support contractor and supplier compliance with security requirements
- Collaborate with ISF operations command to ensure the effectiveness of mitigation measures
- Assist in daily consolidation of Personnel on Board (POB) data
- Implement and enforce security policies, legal requirements, and best practices on-site
- Conduct and support training for security personnel, including exercises and awareness programs with ISF
- Monitor and audit the performance of security contractors on-site
- Participate in regular threat assessments with ISF
- Update area situation reports in coordination with the sustainability department
- Issue daily and weekly security reports
- Investigate security incidents and provide detailed reports
- Act as Security Liaison Officer with ISF in crisis management situations
Key requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Defence, Security, Foreign Affairs, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar security role
- Previous experience with Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) of at least 5 years
- Experience in coordinating with security forces, private security companies, and other stakeholders
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Fluent in English and Arabic (both written and spoken; written tests in English and Arabic will be required)
- Proven ability to build strong networks with communities and security forces
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proficient in MS Office
