Job Purpose
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is required to support maintenance, asset integrity, and operations with their daily activities. The role involves managing the Concept/FEED/EPC design work for asset development projects carried out by Contractors and managed in-house, performing remaining life and fitness for service assessments, and providing all asset-related inputs to the major project team concerning mechanical static equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for analyzing, determining root cause failure, and recommending remedial solutions to ensure proper troubleshooting of reported problems on static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, flares, filters, various packages, cranes, etc
- Ensuring efficient project implementation, proactive facility improvement, and technical integrity in conjunction with client standards for surface facilities specific to static equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor's in mechanical engineering; a chartered engineer is preferred or working towards it
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the oil and gas onshore/offshore industry, both brownfield and greenfield, including a minimum of 10 years in facilities design (front-end, conceptual, and detailed design) and a minimum of 5 years in project execution, including construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance (including field troubleshooting)
- Computer literacy—Ability to operate standard computer software such as Microsoft applications
- Well-conversant with mechanical design software such as Pvelite & CodeCal or equivalent and international codes and standards
- Knowledge of rotating equipment
- Logical thinking and analytical skills
- Good presentation, communication, and writing skills Interpersonal ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams Aptitude for taking initiative
- Working knowledge of company business processes and regulatory requirements
- Managing and measuring work using appropriate metrics and key performance indicators
