Role Synopsis
The Senior Survey Engineer will manage the Survey contractors providing various survey services contracted through the Land Management. Directly responsible to the Land Manager for the effective utilization of the survey teams in support of the Annual Operational Plan. Responsible to the Infrastructure Projects Land Manager for the compilation and implementation of a LM Survey Strategy and Annual Plan.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the productivity of the Survey contractors through an effective tasking and tracking process
- Maintain and utilize an effective tasking process and documentation and ensure that the Survey contractors understand the requirements of the request
- Draft, implement and maintain a specific survey specifications document keeping national and SOC requirements in mind
- Ensure that the Survey contractor has effective quality control procedures and that they are implemented
- Receive all Survey requests from other departments; ensuring that the request form is complete and that the intention and priority of the client is understood
- Keeping track off all Survey tasks on the contract area implementing a survey task register and through a daily reporting process. Keep clients outside the Land Management department up to date on the progress of their Survey requests
- Act as the point of contact for all Survey task requests and survey reports and data
- Responsible to receive all completed survey reports and data. All survey data will be evaluated for detail accuracy in line with the request before distribution to the requester
- All inaccurate and failed data will be returned to the contractor for correction with the full knowledge of the requester and a target date is to be set for correction and resubmission
- Liaise closely with the GIS team for the accurate uploading of surveyed data onto the company’s GIS. Assist the GIS team in data QC of uploaded data
- Ensure that all Survey contractors are Survey Geodetic Specifications compliant
- Keeping track of the budget expenditure and assist the land manager with the annual survey budget estimation
- Review all Survey contractors’ monthly invoices in relation with tasks completed and advise the land manager in terms of the approval of the invoices
- Establish and implement a Performance Management Process for all survey contractors
Criteria & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree (above) in Survey Engineering
- A very good understanding of survey requirements in an oilfield
- A minimum of 8 years of professional land survey in the Oil and Gas Industry plus 4 years of experience of supervising multiple land survey crews and/or administering land survey contracts
- A good understanding of oilfield development
- Familiar with ArcGIS Arcmap software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Projects
