mselect is looking to hire a Student Affairs Supervisor for an educational client in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in student services, student affairs, or a related role within an educational or training institution. Fluency in English and Kurdish is a must.

Job Purpose
This role involves managing all aspects of student services, including advising, counselling, and fostering a sense of community among students. The Student Affairs Supervisor will serve as the primary point of contact for students, addressing their concerns, facilitating their development, and enhancing their overall experience at the institute. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of student needs, and a commitment to student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support to students on academic, personal, and career related matters
  • Address student concerns and grievances in a timely and effective manner, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution process
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and support students facing academic challenges or personal issues
  • Develop and implement programs and activities that promote student engagement, and a sense of community within the institute
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and events that address the needs and interests of students, fostering their personal and professional growth
  • Facilitate student involvement in extracurricular activities, including, organizations, and leadership opportunities
  • Plan and execute orientation programs for new students to help them transition smoothly into the institute’s environment
  • Provide ongoing support to students throughout their time at the institute, from orientation to graduation
  • Assist in the development of materials and resources that support student success and well-being
  • Serve as the primary liaison between students and the institute’s administration, ensuring that student voices are heard and considered in decision-making processes
  • Communicate regularly with students through various channels, including newsletters, social media, and in-person meetings, to keep them informed and engaged
  • Advocate for student needs and interests within the institute, working to create a supportive and inclusive environment
  • Mediate conflicts between students or between students and faculty/staff, working towards constructive and fair resolutions
  • Develop and maintain guidelines for handling emergencies and critical incidents involving students
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions, concerns, and outcomes to inform future decision-making and support services
  • Analyse student data to identify trends, areas of concern, and opportunities for improvement in student services and support
  • Prepare regular reports on student engagement, satisfaction, and success for the institute’s management team
  • Work closely with other departments, including admissions, academic affairs, and career services, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to student support
  • Foster a collaborative environment among staff and faculty, promoting teamwork and a shared commitment to student success

Requirements
  • Master’s degree in education, Counselling, Student Affairs, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in student services, student affairs, or a related role within an educational or training institution
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and support diverse student populations
  • Experience in conflict resolution, counselling, or crisis management
  • Knowledge of student development theories and best practices in student affairs
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in professional development program
  • Familiarity with online student services, platforms and tools
  • Certification in counselling or conflict resolution
  • Fluent in English and Kurdish
