Supervisor

mselect is looking to hire a Supervisor for a hospitality and catering client in Duhok, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in supervisory role within the food and beverage industry is preferred. Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic is a must.

JOB SUMMARY
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the place. This role involves managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food quality standards, and overseeing the overall customer experience. The Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the establishment, leading by example, and fostering a positive work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Supervision and Management:
  • Supervise, train, and support cafe and restaurant staff, including waiters, baristas, and kitchen staff
  • Schedule shifts and manage staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage during peak times
  • Address staff performance issues and provide feedback to enhance team productivity
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new employees
Customer Service:
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and addressing any customer complaints or concerns promptly
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of service throughout the cafe and restaurant
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and make improvements to the service and menu offerings
Operations Management:
  • Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the establishment
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure all products meet quality standards
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations and ensure the establishment adheres to food safety standards
Financial Management:
  • Assist in managing the budget, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability
  • Monitor sales, handle cash register operations, and prepare daily financial reports
  • Assist in creating promotional strategies to attract customers and increase sales
Menu and Product Management:
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure menu items are prepared according to the establishment’s standards
  • Monitor food and beverage presentation and make recommendations for menu improvements
  • Stay updated on industry trends and suggest new menu items or promotions to enhance customer experience
Leadership and Team Building:
  • Lead by example, maintaining a positive and professional demeanour at all times
  • Foster a team-oriented environment that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and feedback

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:
  • Experience: minimum of 1-2 years of experience in supervisory role within the food and beverage industry is preferred
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent A degree or certification in hospitality management is a plus
Skills:
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Working Conditions:
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
