mselect is looking to hire a Technical Assistant for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant experience in a similar role. Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides technical support, material and SAP database systems, to the EPRSC department, working as part of the team and contributing to the achievement of the departmental objectives with a wide range of technical and general administrative support services Technical Assistant is also responsible for the provision of EPRS Division’s cost allocation to all Offshore Operating Companies (OOC’s), cost analysis, cost recovery and related CI/Lean business improvements initiatives for all EPRS processes concerning OOC’s, enabling all OOC’s to fully meet their needs for Engineering and Pipeline Repair Services
  • Consolidate and manage the Engineering requirement for procurement services using the SAP procurement package This includes Initiating Contract Work Requests in SAP/Release Orders/Service Entry Sheets/accepting approved purchase requisitions, placing orders for goods and services as required
  • Maintain Technical drawing documents and record control by department procedures Maintain filing and record-keeping system and updated as necessary to ensure proper retrieval of records as required
  • Provide regular updates on the progress of procurement orders, maintenance, inspections/audits, and financial and stock status through the EPRSC inventory and material management System
  • Ensure the distribution operations activities/procedures are carried out by established procedures, controls and company policies
  • Develop technical documents and drawings to support the resolution of engineering issues as instructed by the supervisor
  • Provide support to ensure smooth project and operations executions in Planning/executing/obtaining resources, materials, services, and equipment for Inspection, maintenance, preservation and construction works Provide support and undertake ad-hoc tasks as assigned on the new initiatives, processes & interventions
  • Maintain proficiency in the computer applications used by the Project and Operations Engineering section: Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, E-search, SAP, GIS
  • Execute Business Improvements and Cost Control processes and procedures to ensure maximum cost control, cost transparency and cost recovery from OOC’s
  • Responsible for correct allocation of cost to all OOCs according to approved Charging Mechanism
  • Liaise with the Finance Department for various SAP entries and recovery of charges during regular and off-hire situations
  • Creating Service entry sheets and approving EIPs for payments related to contracted services

Requirements
  • Minimum Higher National Diploma from a recognized university
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Good analytical skills
  • Mastery of IT systems (MS Office, SAP)
  • Good command of the English language Shall read, write and speak fluent English
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with appropriate priority
  • Self-starter/self-management/self-drive and ability to work without close monitoring
  • Resilient under pressure (both internal and external)
  • Strong ability to deal with competing priorities and complex issues
