Job Purpose
The Technical Security Engineer is responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance, configuration, and monitoring of network infrastructure that supports technical security systems. The role focuses on managing and optimizing security network performance, particularly through the operation and monitoring of network switches and topologies. Systems under management include but are not limited to: CCTV, Access Control, Radar, Electro-Optical devices, Security Communication Networks, and the Integrated STAR (Surveillance, Tracking, Alarming, Response) System.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on network switches and related infrastructure supporting security systems
- Ensure all security systems—CCTV, Access Control, Radar, etc—are properly connected and functioning over the IP network
- Monitor, document, and maintain the complete network topology for all security-related infrastructure
- Configure and manage Layer 2 and Layer 3 network switches, including VLANs, trunking, redundancy protocols, and QoS where applicable
- Continuously monitor switch health, network performance, and traffic flow for security-related systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in network connectivity affecting the performance of security systems
- Ensure security system components are integrated into the network with optimal configuration and security
- Participate in network expansion, upgrades, and redesign projects, especially those related to security infrastructure
- Maintain accurate documentation of switch configurations, topology maps, and maintenance logs
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Requirements
Qualification & Training requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, Computer or Communication Engineering, or a related technical field
- Proficient in English (speaking and writing)
- Valid driving license
- Required: Valid networking certifications such as CCNA or Huawei Switching & Routing Certificate
- Additional certifications related to security systems or IT infrastructure are considered a plus
- Proficient experience in network engineering roles with a focus on security systems and IP-based infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with network switch configuration, maintenance, and diagnostics
- Experience in managing and maintaining network topologies in medium to large-scale environments
- Familiarity with IP-based security systems, including CCTV, Access Control, and system integration over a secure network
- Experience working with network monitoring tools and dashboards to oversee performance and availability
- Fluent in English
- Solid understanding of MS Windows Server, Linux systems, and IP networking
- Familiarity with the ITIL framework is a plus
- Proficient with office productivity software (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
- Skilled in troubleshooting networking and system-level issues
- Deep knowledge of network switches, VLANs, routing protocols, redundancy methods, and network design principles
- Ability to read, update, and maintain network topology maps
- Competence in operating and maintaining technical security systems over IP networks
- Strong technical documentation and analytical troubleshooting skills
