mselect is looking to hire a Telecom Technician for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of technical experience in the field of telecommunications, preferably in ELV systems with relevant experience in large buildings, infrastructure, and civil projects in ICT and ELV. Fluency in English is a must.

Job Purpose
The General Technician - CCTV Services is to conduct, manage, and supervise implementation, operational and maintenance requirements of CCTV Services and related infrastructure, and maintain a 24X7 availability and delivery of CCTV services in HQ. The incumbent will also have a direct first-level role in the operation, management, and technical support of CCTV systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation, commissioning, and testing of CCTV and related ELV systems directly or by supervising contractors based on defined corporate standards, processes, and policies for the delivery of resilient and stable state-of-the-art CCTV/ELV solutions
  • Commissioning and testing of structured copper/fiber cabling plant and related infrastructure for transport and connectivity of CCTV/ELV infrastructure and delivery of CCTV services
  • Maintain high quality of all hardware installations performed by internal and external contractors by ensuring compliance with established corporate standards, policies, procedures and manuals
  • Provide operational support requirements including the application of regular preventative maintenance procedures of CCTV systems and infrastructure, to avoid potential risks in loss of assets and interruption of corporate CCTV services
  • Maintain a 24x7 availability of resources by responding as the first level of support to operational CCTV Incident SDS requests, under normal or emergency conditions to ensure non-disruptive or minimum impact on corporate CCTV services
  • Secure CCTV infrastructure assets and records by application of established division controls and guidelines to preserve section infrastructure investments and ensure to maintenance of a safe, highly available 24x7 telecommunication network environment for business and critical industrial-grade services
  • Decision Making Authority
  • Accountable for installation, commissioning, and operation of CCTV assets and services in HQ and support current and future CCTV services, in compliance with established corporate guidelines to facilitate operational services
  • Support and provide feedback on further development of CCTV Infrastructure standards, processes, procedures, and manuals
  • Advise and escalate to management of new initiatives, foreseen obstacles, and potential risk

Requirements
  • A minimum of secondary education or technical Diploma
  • 5 years of technical experience in the field of telecommunications, preferably in ELV systems with relevant experience in large buildings, infrastructure, and civil projects in ICT and ELV
  • Preferably technical training certifications in one or more areas of the following technologies: CCTV, ACS, BMS, DIDS, AV/VC systems, ANPR, RBS, RFID, QMS, VMS, PGS, PMS, etc
  • Excellent knowledge of structured cabling installation, termination, commissioning, and troubleshooting
  • Basic technical knowledge of ELV systems infrastructure core technologies, experience with ELV systems infrastructure hardware installations and configurations, knowledge of IP convergence systems and services, etc
  • Advanced technical knowledge and experience in the configuration and use of specialized test sets (CCTV tester, Link Runner, Network cable tester, multi-meter, etc) and related applications for verification or troubleshooting of CCTV infrastructure
  • Strong personal computer office applications, verbal and communication skills
