mselect is looking to hire a Data Analyst for an international energy client in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

JOB PURPOSE
The Data Analyst for industrial data (any data produced by equipment, processes and systems: surface, subsurface, renewables and many others) will play a pivotal role within the Digital & Innovation department. they will oversee Information Management activities at the perimeter of the whole affiliate and on the other hand, will play a key role in decision making for strategic and operational activities thanks to business intelligence tools. The role focuses on keeping the highest standards in term of information management, guiding business decisions with analytics and ensuring data quality thanks to BI tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate must:
  • Know the uses and constraints of the data (GDPR, compliance, life cycle, legal…), the business processes, the constraints and the applications involved.
  • Ensure that the guidelines and best practices for data management and information management are adopted and applied.
  • Implement a strong and regular control of their scope in terms of data governance.
  • Have a cross-functional vision of the databases/applications in Industrial domain.
Information Management:
  • Contributes to the validation of the PCD/PSPI inventory update for their scope and to the consolidation of the inventory for the affiliate
  • Validates the completion of all compliance actions and the maintenance of compliance.
  • Implements the “3P by Design” and approves its implementation for computer applications related to technical data within their scope. Contributes to the consolidation and evolution of the “3P by Design”.
  • Approves the mapping of storage spaces and validates the classification of sensitive information
  • Validates the scope of application of the PCD for their area.
  • Contributes to the implementation of access rights modifications and validates the changes on secure spaces.
Analysis and Business Intelligence:
  • Use business intelligence tools such as Power BI to create dashboards.
  • Analyze data trends to support strategic decisions.
  • Present actionable insights to management teams.
Data Quality Control:
  • Establish data quality standards and verification processes.
  • Identify and correct inconsistencies or anomalies in the data.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to improve data quality.
User technical support:
  • Train and support users.
  • Maintain a close interface with Headquarter team to share best practices, issues, specifications.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in data management, data governance, or a similar role, preferably in an industry with complex data needs
  • Must be comfortable with processes and O&G project governance
  • High capacity of influence 
  • Must have good interpersonal skills, be able to communicate and listen effectively at all levels of management
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment and is sensitive to different culture/custom
