JOB PURPOSE
The Data Engineer for industrial data (any data produced by equipment, processes and systems: surface, subsurface, renewables and many others) is a key player in the Digital & Innovation department of client. This role is crucial for interpreting business requirements from a data standpoint and establishing a robust data domain structure that aligns with the company’s strategic goals. They will play a role in ensuring that the affiliate is at the forefront of data strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Data Engineer works to define the data management strategy across all technical domains of the affiliate and participate in the prioritization of data management activities and initiatives. Their principal objective is to ensure the consistency of the roadmaps for each data domain within the affiliate scope and to ensure their proper deployment and progress.
- Understand and translate business needs into data strategies.
- Implement, maintain, and animate the structure of data domains to support business objectives.
- Foster a business ownership model for data domains with increased sponsorship.
- Drive the adoption of data governance practices across the organization.
- Enhance collaboration and operational models across industrial data domains.
- Coordinate with the Industrial Data Office to ensure transversely and integration of data strategies.
- Infuse the organizational culture with data literacy and upskilling programs.
- Empower employees to excel with industrial data through continuous learning opportunities.
- Leverage standardized and up-to-date technology platforms.
- Facilitate access to data and analytics, providing state-of-the-art capabilities for informed decision-making.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Prior experience in data management, data governance, or a similar role, preferably in an industry with complex data needs
- Must be comfortable with processes and O&G project governance
- High capacity of influence
- Must have good interpersonal skills, be able to communicate and listen effectively at all levels of management
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment and is sensitive to different culture/custom
