Job Purpose
An experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Site Supervisor is required, capable of managing and leading E&I contractors on behalf of the Company for ongoing facility upgrades. The Electrical Supervisor will be directed primarily by the Construction E&I Superintendent. The Erbil-based electrical technical authority will provide technical oversight and guidance. As an experienced supervisor, the individual is expected to work with limited supervision and undertake electrical upgrades as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising E&I contractors to ensure work site efficiency in the preparation and execution of job scopes
- Planning and execution of installation schedules and reporting on progress to line management
- A full understanding of the requirements of an Operational Work Permit System and capable of generating, performing risk assessments and signing off when complete
- Worksite preparations, risk assessments and safe isolation of electrical systems before issue of permits Conduct toolbox talks ensuring safe and satisfactory contractor engagement
- Ensure site work completion in accordance with the latest revision of “Issued for Construction” (IFC) drawings
- Solid experience in electrical power generation, switchgear and distribution systems up to and including HV
- Experience in control system installation, preferably exposure to Emerson Delta V system
- Leading and troubleshooting site-based commissioning activities and preparation of test/handover documentation
- Preparation of “Red-line” as-build markups on completion of site construction and commissioning activities
- Provide timely completion of any raised punch items
- Full understanding of electrical design documentation and associated Codes and Standards
- Support the Erbil-based Electrical Technical Authority and participate in design, risk and constructability reviews for upcoming development projects
- Proactively managing and ensuring a good site-based electrical safety culture
- Training and coaching of Kurdish Operations & Maintenance personnel
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Qualified to HNC level or ONC (or international equivalent) backed up by a recognized apprenticeship and extensive operator training
- Qualified in Electrical and Instrumentation works in Hazardous Areas (COMPEX Certified)
Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of direct, relevant experience in a similar role
- Good communication and ability to work as part of a multi-discipline and multi-cultural team Ability to work with hard reporting lines and dotted-line responsibilities
- Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal and written skills)
- Computer literate and knowledgeable in relevant Codes and Specifications
- Essential to have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a Petro-chemical environment
