Job Purpose
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget management, and strategic financial planning. This role involves analyzing financial performance, managing cash flow, supervising accounting operations, and advising management on financial strategies. The Finance Manager works closely with department heads to ensure that financial objectives are aligned with overall business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Strategy:
- Develop and oversee financial strategies to ensure the long-term financial health of the organization
- Create and manage annual budgets, providing forecasts and analysis to guide decision-making
- Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections
- Provide management with reports that include analysis of financial results, trends, and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, regulations, and internal policies
Budget Management:
- Lead the budgeting process across the organization, collaborating with department heads to set financial targets
- Review departmental budgets and expenditures regularly, identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency
- Monitor and control company spending to align with budgetary goals and business objectives
Accounting Operations:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate bookkeeping and ledger maintenance
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Supervise payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger functions
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Manage the company’s cash flow to ensure enough funds are available for operational needs
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and manage cash reserves effectively
- Maintain banking relationships and monitor company banking activities for liquidity needs
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure that the organization complies with financial regulations and tax laws
- Conduct financial audits and coordinate with external auditors
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard the organization’s assets
Cost Control & Profitability:
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive initiatives to improve profitability
- Monitor key financial metrics such as gross margins, operating costs, and return on investment (ROI)
- Advise management on investment decisions, capital expenditures, and financial risks
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, including accountants, analysts, and clerks
- Provide training and development opportunities to staff to enhance their skills and performance
- Foster a collaborative environment to ensure efficient and effective financial operations
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is highly desirable
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a management position
- Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and reporting, as well as managing accounting operations
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and risk management
Grammar:
Preferably Kurdish, Arabic, English.
Software Information Equipment/Tool:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Proficient in financial software systems, including ERP and accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modelling and forecasting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to interact with senior management and stakeholders
