mselect is looking to hire an FSF Operator for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities experience within the oil and gas industry. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

Job Objectives
  • Undertakes and ensures that all the OGM and Well production and safety control systems are functional, inclusive of firefighting systems.
  • Undertakes the recording of all pertinent oil & gas production data.
  • Undertakes and ensures that the Company Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures are fully implemented and adhered to, so that Loss Prevention is maximized.
  • Undertakes all activities to achieve work quality in accordance with the Company QA/QC standards and procedures.
  • Undertakes and monitors the safe and satisfactory operation of the FSF production facilities. Reports any maintenance needs.
  • Undertakes the regular recording, metering and checking of the FSF operational production parameters, such as various flows, levels, pressures and temperatures to ensure that these are within specified operation limits.
  • Enters in the log, readings as well as a list of all pertinent activities, known problems and possible problem areas.
  • Reviews any abnormal readings and takes corrective action. Drafts requests to supervisor to deal with unresolved problems.
  • Undertakes the checking of the quality of produced oil to ensure it is within the specified limits through fixed frequency sampling regime
  • Assists in the planning of preventive maintenance schedules to minimize FSF facility down time and maximize oil production. Includes following up on maintenance work until successful completion, final inspection and acceptance of the work.
  • Undertakes and liaises with supervisor on any FSF shutdown or start-up. Ensures the timely operation of such to minimize loss of production whilst again maximizing Loss Prevention.
  • Acting as area authority responsible on mechanical isolation / de-isolation of equipment’s
  • Undertakes and ensures that chemical supplies are adequate and that the storage tanks are filled when necessary.
  • Undertakes and ensures that all necessary procedures and standing instructions are followed. Includes using approved and safe operating procedures for the FSF facilities.
  • Undertakes other similar or related duties such as maintaining high level of housekeeping, carrying out emergency FSF facility test runs and performing minor maintenance. Includes also ensuring that the FSF firefighting system is checked and confirmed functional.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSSE management policies, procedures and controls within own area, monitoring, reviewing and evaluating on a continuous basis, and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Leading by example and develop a strong safety-first culture within the own and (sub)contractor workforce
People & Contractor Management
  • Manage the activities and work performed by Contractors and Suppliers and ensure that it is carried out in an efficient and effective manner. Build good relationships with key stakeholders.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
  • Ensure compliance with corporate requirements on adherence to policies, procedures and instructions within own area related to all relevant regulatory directives to promote a safe and risk-free environment.
  • Improvement of systems, processes and practices.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Technical institute degree or equivalent
Minimum Experience:
  • Process, Mechanical or Electrical background desirable.
  • 3 years’ experience of hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities.
  • Knowledge of ESD F&G and DCS operation.
  • Good understanding of Permit to Work, Mechanical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessment

  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a multi-cultural environment
  • Presentation skills essential
