Mission:
- Reports to the Construction Manager
- Is fully aware of EPC Contract, subcontracts for electrical works and various Project Agreements
- Manages all electrical works within the PV substations and interface activities with the grid
- Coordinate the electrical construction stakeholders effectively in line with the contracts
- Ensures the EPC Contractor's and subcontractors' compliance with all the site HSE rules and regulations
- Ensures the EPC Contractor's and subcontractors' compliance with the approved Method Statements/Material Submittals/Risk Analyses, applicable standards and technical requirements at every stage of the electrical works
- Ensures the execution of the electrical works with the expected quality standards as per Owner’s requirements and best industry practices
Key Tasks/Responsibilities
- Organizes the integrated site team to supervise the EPC Contractor's construction progress, and quality of the works, including commissioning until COD (ie, construction documents review and approval when applicable, inspection witnessing, clearing punch list items, issuing electrical completion certificates, turnover packages readiness, checking and implementing commissioning procedures)
- Provides input into the weekly site meetings, progress and/or discipline technical meetings with EPC Contractor
- Monitors and checks the EPC Contractors' work across each discipline to ensure the timely delivery of the works
- Review the EPC Contractor’s weekly and monthly progress reports and raise any deviation to the planning, the project standards and requirements
- Confirms and provides the Project Control Manager, the Contract Manager and the Project Director with the inputs for the monthly and quarterly progress reports, follow-up meetings with project stakeholders, and relevant information to check EPC Contractor invoices
- Verification of the site logbook managed by the EPC Contractor
- In relation to the electrical activities in the PV substations, He/she ensures the satisfactory progress of electrical works, monitoring actual progress versus planned values, ensures that the critical activities are executed according to schedule, and looks for opportunities to create margin within the critical path When necessary, evaluates and approves all recovery plan activities related to electrical works for the delayed activities to secure the overall schedule
- In relation to the electrical activities in the PV substations, He/she ensures the quality of the execution of the electrical works by raising any deviation from the project requirements or good industry practices
- With the support of the HSE Manager, ensures the implementation of the HSE standards and requirements and promotes the highest HSE culture amongst EPC Contractor and subcontractors
- Supports the Project Control Manager in drafting the progress reports for the Project Director and other project stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction of HV substations
- Familiar with Grid Compliance, Local Grid Code, Notification of Safety Procedures and Switching Procedures
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred
- Experience with EPC contractors and/or EPC background
- Experience with projects valued at over $50 million
- A minimum of 3 construction projects completed
- Knowledgeable of international standards and 'best industry practices' for construction, testing and commissioning works
- Knowledgeable of H&S standards, and environmental legislation/regulations
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint or similar
