Job Purpose
IT Business Senior Adviser is responsible for identifying and documenting the IT business needs of various departments, helping to determine feasible solutions to meet business requests and meet business demands. This position will give the opportunity to grow to become an active member and solution visionary who shapes the technology demand and direction in the IT business community.
Key Responsibilities
- Business demand collection and verification gather business demands for each IT request, capture and document business demand for minor projects from stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into practical solutions with required risk assessment, feasibility study, and business impacts
- Work with other departments and provide complete solution design with accurate estimate of required resources and budget
- HSSE focal point for the IT department
- Monitor and follow up on contractors' closure of all HSSE requirements and assist for investigations of it-related incidents
- CMC compliance coordination: track and monitor the status of contractors' CMC licenses and collaborate with BOC and contractors to streamline submission processes for CMC compliance
- Data analysis and presentation; consolidate data from diverse sources to generate meaningful insights for stakeholders to present findings via reports, slides, dashboards, or live presentations
- IT policy documentation drafting documents and overseeing subsequent revisions
- Project progress and completion status
- Conduct regular meetings with project managers to track updates on ongoing projects
- Apply statistical and analytical methods to assess progress and identify trends
- Reporting focal point for regular team reports and progress prepare and distribute weekly and monthly progress updates to stakeholders
- Quarterly and annual purchasing requests to comply with procurement requirements and guidelines
- Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Describe technology in terms easily understood by business customers and set realistic customer expectations for the project outcome, adjust customer expectations in accordance with changes in scope
- Generate innovative approaches to existing progress blockers and new opportunities
- Work closely with stakeholders to build trust and understand their goals, motivations, constraints, risks, and operating environment
- Assist IT, business manager, in implementing IMIT business strategy
- Planning, and identifying the scope and architecture for new IMIT services and solutions
- Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep updated to align with the solution over the project lifecycle
- Ensure traceability of requirements from business needs and requirements, through testing and scope changes, to the final solution
- Understand and stay abreast of relevant architectures and technologies related to a business area
- Research potential solutions and innovative ideas guide and manage interactions with technology vendors
Requirements
- BSc Degree in Engineering, Information Management, Business Management or Minimum Education or Certification: 4-year Degree related to IT
- 8 years of relevant job experience within the Information Technology industry, and have Oil and Gas experience, preferably Project management experience
- Proven ability to come up with innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunities
- MS Office: Excel (Advanced), Word (Intermediate), PowerPoint (Intermediate)
