mselect is looking to hire a Lifting Supervisor for an oil and gas service client in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of years of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.
JOB PURPOSE
The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for supervising all activities related to lifting loads and materials, whether in construction sites, ports, warehouses or any site that requires heavy lifting and transportation operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervising the lifting team: Ensuring that all team members are familiar with the correct procedures and equipment used to lift materials safely
Ensuring the safety of equipment: Inspecting equipment used in lifting operations such as cranes, ropes and nets, and ensuring that they are in good condition and safe for use
Planning and organizing lifting operations: Developing detailed lifting plans based on the nature of the load and the available space, and ensuring that operations are carried out safely and efficiently
Identifying and mitigating risks: Identifying potential hazards on site and taking the necessary measures to avoid accidents and injuries
Communicating with other work teams: Coordinating with maintenance, engineering and safety teams to ensure that all aspects related to the lifting process run smoothly
Compliance with Standards and Regulations: Ensure that all lifting operations comply with applicable laws and regulations in the field of occupational health and safety
Reporting: Prepare daily or weekly reports on lifting operations, including any potential problems or accidents
Training and Education: Train workers on best practices in lifting operations, and ensure that they understand all necessary procedures to avoid accidents
Site Control: Ensure that the site is ready and safe before starting the lifting process, including ensuring that there is enough space and suitable weather conditions
Immediate Problem Solving: Immediate intervention to solve any problems that may arise during the lifting process
REQUIREMENTS
Holder of certificates in the field and a minimum of 5 years of years of relevant experience
Educational attainment Diploma or bachelor's degree or equivalent
