mselect is looking to hire a Life Support Compliance Inspector for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in life support or catering background also preferred 2 years' experience with HACCP training. Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.
Role Synopsis
- Develop a good understanding of the LS Scope of Work Ensuring compliance and regular checks of processes and facilities through daily inspections & audits of the incumbent Life Support contractors and associated satellite locations Escalating any issues that may arise to the Base Manager
- Responsible for collating information & completing weekly reports in a timely manner and agreed formats
- Conduct low-risk meetings with contractors in the absence of the Base Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for monitoring the Life Support Contractor against the SOW, reporting non-compliance and carrying out relevant follow-up actions
- Monitor food safety to ensure that the contractor has followed all food safety policies and HACCP procedures
- Inspect & ensure all HACCP documentation is kept at the correct status
- Attend meals in the DFACs and check for compliance, quality, and quantity against the SOW requirements
- Ensure that the contractor is maintaining all site's cleanliness in accordance with the SOW
- Conduct Audits using I Auditor software and keep the database current
- Attend contract meetings & record minutes if requested
- Complete weekly reports under the direction of the Base Manager
- Perform job/task-related ad-hoc requests under the direction of the Base Manager
- Self-development and taking advantage of training opportunities as they arise
- Provide translation and feedback when required
Requirements
Essential:
- Candidates should ideally have a life support or catering background and must have appropriate professional relevant post-qualification experience
- Preferred 2 years’ experience with HACCP training
- Self-motivated and keen to succeed with an ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
- Experience in managing and supervising contractors on similar projects within a similar industry
- The ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
- The ability and confidence to enforce and maintain a high standard of health and safety legislation
- Ability to become fully conversant in the HACCP and Food Safety Systems and Principles
- Hold or working towards a recognized Food Hygiene qualification
- A strong communicator with good written and verbal skills in both Arabic and English
- A working experience and knowledge of Health and Safety rules & regulations if preferable
- Computer literate and able to use MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Methodical problem solver who can motivate others to work as a team and produce results
- Initiative to work on your own or as part of a multinational workforce
