Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Operations Cost Team Lead in accurately recording and forecasting costs within the business area. This includes reporting costs to both Finance and Management. The key objective is to develop proficiency in the comprehensive responsibilities of a cost analyst. This entails ensuring that all significant activities and associated accruals are accurately documented in the company's financial records, in compliance with the stipulations of the Technical Service Contract (TSC) and International Accounting Standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Tracking/Invoice processing:
- Ensure prompt and accurate processing of supplier invoices by contract terms with onward routing for technical and financial approvals
- Review Finance Ledger transactions on an ongoing basis, generating journal entry requests into Finance when required
- Assist in the maintenance and population of the Operations Cost Trackers in line with the WBS/CBS
- Assist the Cost Team Lead in the ongoing exercise to drive down the ageing accrual
- Monitor, Update, Forecast and Understand contract spend profiles for multiple cross-departmental contracts
- Control blanket releases/services orders for departmental contracts
- Build excellent working relationships with Operations engineering leads/vendors
Summarize monthly VoWD and populate required analytical narratives for a variety of Management Reports.
Inventory Management:
Understand the movements, tracking, and utilization of inventory-held stock items.
Requirements
- A cost analyst role for a multinational company (2+ years) would be advantageous, and Oil & Gas industry experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and information skills
- Good interpersonal skills and willingness to learn new processes
- A good understanding of Oil &Gas Accounting Practices is a plus
- Good Computer skills – including Excel, Word, Outlook
- Excel skills are essential for this role
- Competence with Financial systems – experience with SUN/Maximo a plus
- Good English language speaking and writing skills
