Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to drive operational efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and meet business objectives
- Oversee all aspects of operations, including procurement, documentation, transportation, warehousing, and customs compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of shipments according to customer requirements and industry regulations
- Manage a team of operations staff, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
- Foster a culture of excellence by setting clear performance expectations and holding team members accountable for results
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve cross-functional cooperation
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in freight forwarding
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5-6 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations management
- A Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP) would be an advantage
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving goals
- In-depth knowledge of the freight forwarding industry including customs regulations and international shipping practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams as well as external stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, and government agencies
- A proven track record in driving process improvements and implementing operational efficiencies
