mselect is looking to hire an Operations Manager for a retail client in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in retail operations, including managing multiple store locations. Fluency in English and Arabic, Kurdish is a must.


Job Purpose
The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple retail locations, ensuring that all stores operate efficiently and meet performance targets. The role involves managing store managers, improving operational processes, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving sales growth. The Retail Operations Manager plays a key role in developing strategies to increase profitability, optimize workforce management, and maintain high standards of product quality and service.

Key Responsibilities

Store Management & Support:

  • Oversee and support the day-to-day operations of multiple retail stores
  • Provide leadership and direction to store managers to ensure smooth functioning of store operations
  • Ensure that all stores are following company policies, procedures, and standards


Sales Performance & Growth:

  • Monitor store performance metrics such as sales, customer satisfaction, inventory management, and operating costs
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed sales targets and improve profitability
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement


Staff Management & Development:

  • Manage, mentor, and develop store managers and staff to ensure they meet performance goals
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and staff development programs to build a high-performing team
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for store managers and ensure employee engagement and retention


Inventory & Stock Control:

  • Ensure efficient stock management and inventory control across all retail locations
  • Monitor stock levels, reduce shrinkage, and prevent stockouts by coordinating with the inventory and supply chain teams
  • Implement systems to improve inventory accuracy and reduce waste


Customer Experience:

  • Ensure that all stores maintain high standards of customer service and provide a positive shopping experience
  • Address customer complaints and feedback in a timely and professional manner
  • Develop initiatives to enhance customer loyalty and satisfaction


Budget & Financial Management:

  • Manage the operational budgets for all stores and ensure expenses stay within approved limits
  • Analyze financial reports and store performance data to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Work closely with the finance department to ensure proper financial control and reporting


Operational Efficiency:

  • Implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity in stores
  • Review and streamline store processes to ensure smooth operation and effective workflow
  • Identify and resolve operational issues that affect store performance and customer satisfaction


Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure that all retail locations comply with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain store safety standards and provide training on safety procedures and compliance
  • Conduct regular audits and store inspections to ensure adherence to legal and operational standards


Qualifications & Requirements

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Operations, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in retail operations, including managing multiple store locations
  • Proven experience in team leadership, store management, and improving store performance


Grammar:

Preferably Kurdish, Arabic, English.

Software Information Equipment/Tool:

  • Strong leadership and managerial skills to motivate and guide store managers and teams
  • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate sales performance and operational efficiency
  • Proficiency in retail management systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, management, and customers
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address operational challenges
