Pastry Chef

mselect is looking to hire a Pastry Chef for a hospitality client in Erbil, Iraq. Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment. Fluency in Kurdish and Arabic is a must, English is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and execute artisanal pastries for Cafe kiosks across the region
  • Develop innovative and seasonal pastry offerings that align with Cafe's brand and customer preferences
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste consistency across all locations
  • Manage inventory and ingredient sourcing to maintain freshness and minimize waste
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to optimize kitchen operations and maintain efficient workflow
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on pastry techniques and recipes
  • Adhere to health and safety standards in food preparation and kitchen cleanliness

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Creative flair and passion for pastry-making with a strong understanding of flavour profiles and ingredient pairings
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Culinary certification preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
