Job Objective
The role requires a highly skilled and experienced Planning Engineer to contribute significantly to the successful execution of drilling and completions projects within the upstream oil and gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), and schedules for drilling and constructions of facilities projects
- Analyse project scope, requirements, and constraints to establish realistic project timelines and resource requirements
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and delays, and develop mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with drilling and completions teams to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs
- Perform resource allocation and levelling to ensure optimal utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials
- Develop and maintain project budgets, track expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Participate in project reviews and provide input on project performance and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in oil and gas sector, planning and scheduling
- Proven expertise in project management methodologies and tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience with international oil and gas industry projects
- Knowledge of overall operations and processes
- Certifications in project management
