Job Purpose
The Senior Civil Engineer will collaborate with the Engineering and Construction Teams to deliver the civil scope of various projects.
This role involves producing comprehensive Civil Engineering designs, which include but are not limited to:
Design Specifications:
- Architectural, Civil, and Structural Specifications
- Structural Model
- Geometry Definition of Structures
- Supports and Connections Definition
- Actions on Structures Definition
- Size and Grade of Structural Members
Calculations and Verifications:
- Earthworks Design Calculations
- Geotechnical Parameters Definition
- Soil Pressure Verifications
- Stability Assessments for Retaining Walls
- Concrete Calculations and Stress Verifications
- Foundation Stability Evaluations
- Reinforcement Bar Requirements
- Structural Steel Calculations and Stress Evaluations
- Buckling Analysis of Steel Members
- Connections Design
- Surface Drainage Calculations
Drawings and Plans:
- Plot Plans (Buildings, Equipment, Roads, Fences)
- Earthwork Drawings (Cuts and Fills Elevations)
- Road Drawings
- Structural Concrete Drawings
- General Arrangement Drawings
- Reinforcement Bars Bending Schedule
- Structural Steel Drawings (General Arrangement, Connection Details)
- Material Take Off
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical tasks and monitor the progress of external service providers in delivering engineering deliverables and materials to the site
- Support and assist civil works on-site
- Scope includes all Civil Engineering tasks at PF1, PF2, existing and new well pads, roads, and flowline installation Specific tasks include (Production of design deliverables, Estimation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ), Estimation of Capital Expenditure (Capex) for civil works, monitoring execution of work on-site, Arranging site surveys)
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering
- Over 10 years of experience in the Civil Engineering field, with training provided for application in the Oil & Gas sector
- Strong understanding of Civil Engineering theories and practical applications
- Basic understanding of (Structural Modelling, Reinforced Concrete, Structural Steel, Geotechnical Engineering, Drainage Engineering)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting software
- Strong understanding of site construction practices
- Experience in petrochemical installations and knowledge of pipeline/flowline construction is advantageous
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- A team player with the ability to collaborate with diverse personnel
- Willingness to develop skills through on-the-job training
- Self-starter with a strong desire to achieve superior results
- Excellent presentation, communication, and writing skills
- Strong logical thinking and analytical abilities
