mselect is looking to hire a Planning Engineer for an international oil and gas operator in Basrah, Iraq. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas Operations (Construction and Operations). Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.

JOB DIMENSIONS
The Junior Planner will contribute to the consolidation of information from different stakeholders to derive integrated planning in Primavera, with associated reports every month, and ad hoc when required. Such planning will cover all operated activities in the affiliate, HQ and Projects. This includes well drilling operations, projects (integration), surveys, permitting, seismic, studies, JV relations, authorities’ relations and internal approval process, product delivery, among others. The main objective is to ensure the delivery of various parallel projects and operated activities and tasks in time.

ACTIVITES
Activities of the Junior Planner are under the guidance of the Lead Planning Engineer but not limited to:
  • HSE: respect and promote the HSE rules and culture in executing the day-to-day internal and external activities
  • Strategic Planning: assist in the building and implementation of a robust and consistent long-term planning: Assist to the internal and external strategic exercises such as LTP PRIME Budget COMSTRAT, Assist in the preparation of the yearly strategic alignment workshops with Partners and Authorities
Integrated Operational Planning (IOP):
  • Objective of the position is to optimize short term (5 WLA) operational planning considering constraints (POB clashes logistics means multi trades activities…) to identify/take advantage of all cost and time saving opportunities
  • To organize and/or attend technical interface meetings as necessary
  • Ensure the planning database is always updated
  • In charge of 5 WLA planning meeting organization and animation on site
  • Gather all schedules from all entities on board (project construction maintenance production inspection HSE marine) check information
  • Support on the resolution of clashes
  • Ensure the activities from 5WLA planning entering the 2 WLA planning (frozen period) are meeting all the requirements (JRA and RLO done Material available…)
  • Assist in the preparation and the issue of Integrated Operational Planning (monthly /yearly horizon)

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • In accordance with the context the organization in place and the respective roles of the Planning and Development Manager and the Lead Senior Planning Engineer t the accountabilities of this role are to:
  • Protect the Group’s interest with regards to its activity as an Operator
  • Ensure the affiliate’s compliance with its contractual obligations towards the Host Country
  • Contribute to the issuance of a comprehensive Strategic and Integrated Operational Planning
  • Contribute to align all the internal and external stakeholders on the affiliate Strategic and Integrated Operational Planning
  • Assist Lead Senior Planning Engineer in supporting the affiliate focal point (Corporate Planning Development Manager) for the Long-Term Plan yearly exercise
  • Contribute through the Lead Senior Planning Engineer to share information and experiences on JV matters with other affiliates and head office

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Formal education (Diploma): MSc or BSc in Engineering
  • Work Experience: 5 years’ experience in the Upstream Oil and Gas Operations (Construction and Operations)
  • Experience in Onshore and/or Middle East projects execution is considered a plus
  • Competencies: Quality HSSE Planning Project Coordination Reporting onshore experience
  • Knowledge of Primavera software
  • Background in Planning Scheduling and Project management knowledge is a plus
  • Good knowledge of scheduling tools (Primavera Project Management Microsoft Project and other office computing tools
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Ability in developing good relationships within the different departments and Projects teams
  • Autonomous and able to operate in a highly transverse situation Rigorous approach to problem solving
  • Soft skills: ability to influence listen convince coordinate and facilitate proactive behavior
  • Transverse working environment: capability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is a must French is a major plus
